FIELD NOTE · DAILY SPECIMEN
One animal a day. A new specimen is waiting to be identified.
One animal a day. Every day, WhichAnimalToday features one new specimen — a photo, waiting to be identified. Look at the photo: no caption, no name — just the picture. Take your guess by typing an animal name and hitting “Guess →”. Common names, scientific names, and close spellings all count. Right or wrong, each guess reveals a new clue; you get 3 guesses total. Once you guess it — or run out of guesses — the full answer shows up, along with a fun fact and where the photo came from. Copy your result, such as “WhichAnimalToday #12 🐢 2/3”, and send it to a friend. Come back tomorrow for a brand new specimen; miss a day and your streak resets. Curious about past days? Check the Archive to browse every animal that’s already been featured.
